Sparkling Afternoon Tea for Two at Hilton London Angel Islington 10730497

Very enjoyable

Overall a nice experience; food selection good, tasty and plentiful; venue pleasant and welcoming. Downside was the service. Everything very slow...tea delivery, food delivery, a problem with one of the teapots took ages to fix and if we wanted anything one of us had to keep going to the bar for attention. I asked for the “Champagne” as advertised in the deal.. the waiter seemed shocked, asked for the vouchers and served Prosecco. We asked for another glass of Prosecco and were told we’d need to pay extra, which was fine and expected. A request for a third glass of Prosecco was met with an apology as they had run out! Admittedly they did provide a complimentary glass of sparkling rose which was pleasant. Never really felt that the delivery of our experience was important to them. If we go back it will be purely because venue is an easy rendezvous for the group.

It was a good tasty spread of sandwiches particularly for us vegetarians, with traditional scones with cream and jam, followed by some delectable desserts. And of course lots of varieties of tea - yumm! Good easy location and prompt service - we did go on a weekday afternoon so it was quiet and cozy. You cannot go wrong here!

Had a lovely time at the Hilton Angel. It was Afternoon Tea for 2 for my birthday, and ended up being half an hour or so, but as it was early afternoon on a weekday, it wasn't busy and the restaurant at the hotel were more than happy to adjust the time. The customer service was excellent, again there were two of us for Tea and we were the only ones there, which makes it easier, but nevertheless the staff were very nice and helpful. There was a nice selection of Tea, we didn't have too long a wait for the sandwiches a cakes to come and the staff were more than willing to keep bringing boiling water out. Everything was really nicely presented and tasted nice. Yes the sandwiches are small, but they're finger sandwiches so they're intended to be small. All in all a very nice time!

An enjoyable afternoon being spoiled in pleasant surroundings. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
