Wonderful Wigwam Weekend for Two I booked the gift for my boyfriend for Christmas and we went to Gorsebank on the 21st-23rd February. We were incredibly lucky with the weather for two days, so we made the most of the sunshine and climbed Criffel (as suggested by the campsite's website). Top tip: take waders (or a sledge for the way down), as it is VERY boggy! We went to New Abbey, close by, which was brilliant for all levels of walkers and had a great tea room as a reward for your climbing. Also visit Caerlaverock Castle if you get the opportunity. The area is amazing for mountain biking so the site makes a great base. The wigwam itself was a lot bigger than we expected and was very snug and windproof! The farm owners were very friendly and are available if you have any problems (not that we did). The kitchen and bathroom facilities are heated and were in superb condition, we took our own washing up liquid and pans but there is no need, there is plenty of equipment. The site and everything close by is perfect for getting your kids out and about: there are so many options for younger legs and the campsite itself provides a treasure hunt and the option to help on the farm, collecting eggs, feeding the animals etc. We definitely plan to return in the future and my boyfriend loved his present. Wigwams are the future! 26 February 2014
Just perfect Had a voucher bought as a birthday present and we had a great time..Pods were warm and clean and even though it was November we managed to sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy a campfire. My boyfriend enjoyed the mountain bikes we hired but my saddle was designed for my bum!!! Would really recommend 14 January 2013

Superb What a superb long weekend. The facilities offered were the best possible and the jumbo pod was a nice extra. We had nice weather for most of the time and when it rained we had our lovely Cosy pod to retreat to. I would definitely go back and would recommend friends to join us. 11 November 2011
