Retirement Gift
08 August 2022
Hotel very tired, in need of refurbishment. The pictures on your web site are, i would suggest, are very old, we didn't recognise many of the pictures. This was given to us as a retirement gift and we were not expecting a £40 a night supplement. We were also asked to pay additional supplements for dinner and a cooked breakfast which £10 for cooked breakfast on top of the breakfast already paid for was a little excessive. The continental breakfast was a bit minimal! Unlikely to stay here again.

Excellent Hotel Stay

Great hotel in the country. Lovely open fire when you walk in to the reception area. Staff polite, friendly and helpful. Bright clean dining room and the meals were very good. Bedroom adequate. Plenty of places to visit with in an hours drive. If in that area again will revisit

Not the best!
20 August 2019
Bedroom was like a cupboard with the view blocked by an old roof. decor is very dated with old painted furniture, bathroom had patches of bare plaster, television was no bigger than a small computer monitor. There was a dirty cup on the tray for our tea/coffee, which was off-putting. The general presentation of the room was quite shabby! Service in the restaurant was ok ish but for starters they had no salmon for the pasta, then they had run out of a certain cheese I had chosen as part of a cheeseboard which I was only told about after waiting around 15 minutes after my order. When we arrived on the Tuesday night we noticed three spiders webs in the corner of the dinning room....they were still there on Thursday Morning when we went down for Breakfast! which was NOT a full English breakfast as stated unless we paid extra for it.

Country retreat
17 July 2019
Rowley Manor is an old grade II listed Georgian building sitting in beautiful countryside adjacent to St Peters Church with horses roaming and it is such a lovely location you can forgive the little things that could be improved in the hotel: we had a room at top of the hotel which would not be suitable for everyone although there was no mention of the stairs to reach it. The room would have benefited from effective black out blinds too and an improved shower but that said it was charming and clean. Evening dining was very nice and there was a pleasant bar area to enjoy a pre-dinner drink where guests can bring their dogs if they want to. It would have been nice to have had a cooked breakfast included as opposed to up-grading for almost £9 however we still enjoyed a continental breakfast provided. Overall we had a lovely stay and staff were polite and helpful- I would recommend to anyone liking to just relax in old charm.

I have sent a separate "contact us" message...however here it is : Hi, I recently stayed for a two night break with Dinner at Rowley Manor Country House Hotel reference : 10928454-BUY8802857. During check-in I was advised that our room was above the kitchen and there may be some noise and a loud fan that might disturb us, I was assured that the fan and noise would only be apparent during cooking times. Unfortunately the noise and fan continued until 12:45am and restarted the following morning at 6:59am. During this time we also heard sexual swear words so had to close the window which considering the heat was most uncomfortable. The following morning we sleepily walked down for breakfast, we sat at a table and were greeted by a waiter. He took our order ( 2 x poached egg on toast ) and mentioned that because of the offer we were on, there would be a supplement of £8:95 each for a cooked breakfast regardless of what you ordered, I questioned this as it certainly wasn’t mentioned anywhere on BuyaGift or at the hotel and I was told it was a new policy however there was a sign somewhere on the reception desk. We agreed to the charge due to the embarrassment we felt by other people watching us discuss this with the gentleman. Following breakfast I proceeded to reception to raise the issues that had occurred, the lady was most pleasant and sympathetic and said she would look into the issues, she asked about the swearing incidents and worked out who it was and said it would be dealt with, the breakfast issue was because it is a new policy and again she will look into it. Later that day I was phoned on my mobile to be offered a change of room and a free breakfast the next morning, apparently a meeting was taking place that afternoon to discuss the issues. We returned back to the hotel and moved rooms which was just next door but the opposite side from the kitchen, the room was much better than the original. Later that evening we went downstairs for some drinks and de
