The Yamal and her sister ship, Sovietskiy Soyuz can generate 75,000 horsepower and stay at sea for up to 4 years, travelling through pack ice at up to 12 knots. You will travel aboard one of these incredible vessels enjoying excellent food and a comfortable cabin with private facilities. The ship will plough due north through the high Arctic pack ice to the Pole itself, 90 degrees north. Stand on the ice at the top of the world and, for the very brave, join the North Pole Swimming Club!
Your trip starts with the voyage from Helsinki to the Pole. You will spend approximately seven days cruising to your destination enjoying spectacular views of the tundra and wildlife. On arrival at the Pole itself, there will be an opportunity to stop, take photographs and savour the moment (and even have a quick swim). Your return journey gives the opportunity for bird and whale watching in the stunning Franz Joseph land before docking back in Helsinki.
