This is the perfect package for the military all rounder. Fly a reconnaissance mission above the Cambridgeshire countryside in a Tiger Moth before taking charge of the offensive in an armoured vehicle. You'll start the day with some refreshments in the control tower at the Imperial War Museum Duxford before receiving a short safety briefing. Once you've been kitted up in a flying jacket, helmet and goggles you'll be taking to the skies for a flying lesson in an open cockpit Tiger Moth. You'll get to take the controls and fly the plane yourself. Once you've touched down you'll have a photo of you and the biplane together, then you'll be off to learn to drive a tank. After a buffet lunch in the Pilot's Briefing Room you'll then be taken for a flight over Cambridge in a Dragon Rapide. Once you are back on solid ground you'll be taken for a guided tour of Duxford's private aircraft collection before finishing off your day with a celebratory glass of champagne and the presentation of your log book flight certificate. This is a must for any fan of military history, interesting, fun and thrilling.

On this experience day I got the chance to fly in the cockpit of an actual tiger moth aeroplane. This plane is a real piece of history so getting a flight in it is really special the chance to have a flying lesson in it was out of this world! The Imperial War Museum is a great attraction and the tank driving experience was something I never thought I'd do. 16 November 2010
I wanted my husband to have a great time flying a plane for his recent birthday so I booked him a Tigers & Tracks Action Day at Duxford - an experience that includes flying a Dragon Rapide by plane and driving a vintage Army tank. He also got full access to museum exhibits a champagne toast and special lunch laid on at the museum. There is so much packed into this day out that I'm pretty sure Keith will never forget it. 16 November 2010
