Declare war on boring walks in the countryside! This is an incredible opportunity to take control of an Abbot self-propelled gun, an FV432 armoured personnel carrier and a Chieftain main battle tank. The Chieftain weighs in at 55 tons and can crush a car like a Matchbox toy, so you should probably keep out of its way. You’re better off inside the tank, where your guide will show you how to control this most notorious of military vehicles. Some of the instructors have seen action in the Falklands and Gulf wars, so they are highly experienced and will be sure to have many a story to share. For a change of pace, you also have the chance to ride on the quad bikes at the specially designed track to top off a fantastic day. At the end of the day you will leave with a certificate of achievement to commemorate the experience.

Hubby's Christmas Present to me Whole thing absolutely brilliant. APC and Abbott fantastic trying to sling them around the corners and through the puddles. Quad Bike a bit scary at first but exhilarating once I got the hang of it. Chieftan amazing. A very enjoyable experience. Staff all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Command central (refreshments area) very good. Could have used the word brilliant many many times. Had a huge grin on my face the whole morning. The best Christmas present I have ever been given. 26 March 2011
I love this - highly recommended I had a fantastic afternoon at the tank driving experience. Everything was extremely well organised and the facilities were good considering the rural location. The catering arrangements were excellent. The staff were really friendly and only too pleased to engage in conversation, answer questions. They went out of their way to ensure that you were having a good time and engaged with spectators as well as "drivers". There is no pressure or rush, everything is relaxed and the driving experiences were good fun. Be prepared to get dirty! Thoroughly recommended. 25 June 2014
Thanks for fun with the tanks! I had a great day on my tank driving experience. I started on the chieftain, then drove the APC, then the Abbott. The instructors were great, really reassuring and gave very clear directions. I went up and down on the chieftain, then got to go round the track on the APC and Abbott a couple of times, then we got a ride on the Abbott (quite bumpy but good fun) and in the back of the APC (very disorientating, but again great fun!). The quad bikes were my final activity and oddly the one I was most nervous about - I guess it was because there was least protection, despite the gloves, balaclava and safety glasses that were provided. The instructors were brilliant and encouraged me to go at my own pace. After a few minutes, my confidence grew and I started to get a bit faster and got completely covered in mud. It was brilliant! I'd thoroughly recommend this activity to anyone. Be warned though, you may spend the rest of the day grinning like an idiot! As an aside, the cakes and tea were great and everyone was really helpful and friendly. 16 June 2014
Just Amazing! 5 of us went to the Tank Driving Experience: 2 to drive and 3 of us to watch and take photos. Well we all had a go on different vehicles and the value for money was spot on. The staff are amazing and make sure all are included in this fun experience. I was struggling to walk after a recent operation but they managed to get me out for a ride on an Abbott - what a day we all had. Congratulations on delivering such an amazing experience! 14 June 2014
