Enjoy the thrill of the Solent for a full day as you blast off from the wharf for a fascinating historic harbour tour and a ripping powerboat ride around the Solent's many forts (Palmerstons Follies). After a well-earned lunch in Cowes, it's off for some fantastic sightseeing and photo opportunities at the Needles - a dramatic white chalk stack formation that emerges out of the sea. It's an unbeatable way to truly experience the exhilaration of a RIB and the UK's busiest waterway.
The day starts off with a tour of Portsmouth Harbour. You’ll see some of the most cutting edge war-ships in the world, alongside some of the oldest and most famous (including HMS Victory). After the tour you’ll head out into the Solent and the throttle will be opened up. You’ll see just about everything the Solent has to offer on this unique trip – the Napoleonic Forts, the spot where the Mary Rose sunk, world class yacht racing, powerboat racing, and many more famous sights as you blast towards Cowes for lunch. When you get to Cowes you’ll cruise down the river Medina to the Folly Inn – an award winning waterside pub with its own pontoon. After a leisurely lunch (included) you’ll head back up the river and out to sea, heading for the Needles. This is one of the most famous landmarks on the South coast – a dramatic white chalk stack formation that emerges out of the sea. After a look at some of the wildlife, caves and secluded bays that this area is famous for, you’ll turn around and head back down the Solent, stopping for a short break in Cowes once again, where you can grab a drink or have a look at the shops. There will be up to 9 other passengers in the boat and you’ll arrive back in Portsmouth at approximately 4pm.
