Enjoy the thrill of the Solent for half a day, as you zoom across the waves in the latest RIB-craft with an expert skipper at the helm. As well as heart-pounding, wave-jumping thrills, you'll also receive a fascinating historical tour of Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent based forts. Then it's off to the world famous yachting haven of Cowes for refreshments before getting back to the action, jumping the car ferry wakes and carrying out high speed manoeuvres as you blast off across the Solent for home!
The half day adventure starts at Gunwharf Quays at 9:30am. You will be kitted up with lifejackets and waterproofs before boarding one of the 29ft, ten seater powerboats (RIBs). After a tour around the harbour and historic ships, you’ll be taken out into the Solent and the throttle will be opened up. You’ll experience speeds of up to 50mph as your experienced professional skipper shows you the historic sights of the Solent, including the Napoleonic Forts, the spot where the Mary Rose sunk and more. Depending on what events are going on that day, you may see some yacht racing, war ships, cruise ships, powerboat racing, or even a seaplane landing! There will be a 45 minute break in Cowes, where you can grab a drink in one of the waterside bars or cafes, or wander through the narrow cobbled streets absorbing some of the history in this world famous Sailing town. After that it’s back on board for some more high speed action as you blast back to Portsmouth, jumping off the wakes of ferries and ships as you go. You’ll arrive back in Gunwharf Quays at around 13:30; the experience lasts around 4 hours.

Not to be missed This was an absolutely fantastic experience. I can only praise the management at Onboard for their care and attention to the smallest details. Booking was quick, even though we'd left booking late, and they fitted us in on another trip not yet scheduled. The kiosk staff were very friendly and the skipper very competent too. We had a great time bouncing over the waves on the way to Cowes and back, and the skipper was super-helpful, ensuring that everybody (6 of us) were OK at all times. Great value and a great time ! As Arnie said ... "We'll be back ! " 22 January 2014
Don't think I've had such a blast before We've tried a few of these rides before but this was really something else. Really great skipper who knew his way around, and loads of fun on the water. Lunch location in Cowes was perfect, then back out for great second half of the trip. Great value and not to be missed ! (promised we'd be back and we will as soon as the weather improves ! ) 12 February 2012
Simly brilliant A truly fantastic experience in every sense of the word ! Scenic trip along the Solent, high speeds, breath-taking views, and amazing manouevres by the boat and skipper. Then lunch at a wonderful scenic waterside pub with the sun on our faces, followed by another exhilarating ride back to Gunwharf, we both loved every second and will certainly do this again next year ! 07 October 2011
