Get to grips with mastering your body, board and then the sea - you'll be hooked on one of the most exciting watersports in the world once you stand up for real and see what is possible!
Surf sessions begin at various times and last between 2-3½ hours. After an introductory briefing, get into a wetsuit and hit the surf as your instructors guide you all the way. You will need to provide trainers, sunscreen, swim-wear, a towel, warm clothing, a packed lunch or lunch money and any medication you may need (i.e. inhalers). During the session you will be taught by a qualified surf coach and will learn to catch & ride the waves on a beautiful, clean beach.

This experience is available at Cornwall:

  • Cornwall (South West) - Newquay
Your voucher is valid for ten months for one person. No experience is necessary. The minimum age is eight years, and participants will be grouped with others of a similar age and ability, unless otherwise requested. There is no maximum age, weight or height; although you must be able to swim competently. Maximum group size: ten participants. Spectators are welcome - please note there may be restricted views. If the weather conditions are unsuitable and the session is cancelled you will be offered an alternative experience, or the opportunity to rebook for another date. Further directions and details will be sent to you on redemption of this voucher. Please note that the season runs from March - December.

I used to watch all those surfer types out on the beaches near me (can't get away from them round here!) and never thought I'd be zipping up a wetsuit and joining them out on the waves! Had a great fun time even though most of it was spent underwater after falling off my surfboard!

I booked the experience about 3 weeks before I went to Newquay. Booking was quick and easy.The actual experience was fantastic! The girls at the O'Neill academy at Watergate Bay were brilliant friendly and welcoming. Gave clear and easy to understand instructions hints tips and step by step how to...once in the water they were on hand to assist and gave lots of praise and encouragement to myself and the other surfers in the group. Overall 10 out of 10. I had a blast and will definitely do it again :)
