About Scin
Scin was opened in December 2005 in the heart of West London’s fashionable Notting Hill. As you would expect from a spa in such a swanky London neighbourhood, Scin is a modern, stylish “boutique” spa, with minimalist design and clean white furnishings. Despite the sleek look of this massage and beauty salon, it is still welcoming and friendly, a fact its founders pride themselves on.
Small but perfectly formed, Scin contains 4 treatment rooms downstairs where its luxurious massage therapies, facials and skin treatments take place. Upstairs is the large open-plan white area, where you can sit on the white couch and indulge in a manicure or a pedicure whilst watching the world go by through their huge picture windows. A special feature of this salon spa is its beautiful hydrotherapy pool. Built just big enough for two, this water feature uses different pressured jets of water to help relax and invigorate your muscles.
Scin is a truly unisex salon, with treatments enjoyed to both men and women equally. As well as its regular therapies, Scin offers specialist spa treatments for men, including their exfoliating and detoxing back massage treatment. There are also specialist facilities for pregnant women, who can be pampered with a pregnancy massage on a specially designed massage couch. Mums-to-be, busy working men, ladies who lunch, whoever you are you will feel right at home in this London spa.

- Scin spa, surprisingly enough, takes its name from the skin, the biggest focus for its beauty treatments. The skin is the body’s largest organ and makes 16% of our total body weight. It acts as a protective barrier against germs, sunlight and water, regulates our body temperature and helps us detox. The body is fantastic at absorbing products that are put on the skin – and that’s why the Scin philosophy is to avoid chemicals and use organic and natural products.

Scin is a family run business, set up by two sisters, Anna and Nicky Noble. Nicky takes care of the business side of things, while Anna is a therapist and develops all the unique and exciting treatments you’ll see on offer. So that means rather than a faceless ‘brand’, you get a real personal touch as soon as you walk through the door.

Scin shares its Notting Hill postcode with such celebrities as Damon Albarn, Stella McCartney and Martine McCutcheon amongst others! So while you’re having your pedicure or manicure done, remember to keep looking out of their floor-to-ceiling windows, as you never know who you might spot!

I’d been to Scin on a spa day before when my boyfriend bought me a massage treatment package thing for my birthday. I loved it so much there, it’s so welcoming and the fact that they use natural organic products is brilliant for my sensitive skin. I brought my sister along this time and we went for a “Body Bliss” session. I loved that we got a bit of everything, from the hydrotherapy to the manicure or pedicure as well as the traditional massage – made a real day of it!

I went along to Scin on the recommendation of one of my workmates. He said how their back treatment had done him wonders, and that there were almost as many guys as girls there when he went. I’m not one of these ‘metrosexual’ men so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but everyone was really great and my massage felt fantastic! And sure enough, I wasn’t the only bloke there. I’d say this to other men, don’t be embarrassed to go for spa treatments, it’s well worth it!
