What is Sphereing?

Sphereing is the most fun you can have with a hill and a giant bouncy ball!

You get strapped in to the bouncy ball (and if you're aqua sphereing then a couple of buckets of water are added too!) and then pushed down a nice big hill.

Reaching speeds of up to 30mph before coming to rest safely at the bottom, it's the revolutionary adrenaline thrill that's even more fun when you go with a friend!

True thrill-seekers can explore eclipse sphereing. Your sphere is wrapped up until the inside is pitch black and then sent on it's way - you'll have no way of knowing which way is up and which way is down - it's a whole new reason to be afraid of the dark!

With Sphereing locations around the country this is the perfect gift for every action man or woman!

Where can I go Sphereing?

There are currently 13 Sphereing locations around the UK, with more being added all the time! Click on the names below to get a closer look.

Please note: locations are approximate (generally the actual location is the nearest big hill to the one on the map!). Not all Sphereing locations have all types of sphereing, or may offer different experiences at different times of the year.

Am I fit to Sphere?

As long as you're in reasonable shape, health and fitness wise, then there's no reason why you can't enjoy the thrills of Sphereing.

There are some other criteria that might also prevent you from sphereing:

  • Sphereing is not suitable for pregnant people
  • You shouldn't sphere if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition or epilepsy
  • You shouldn't sphere if you've got a history of back or neck problems
  • You won't be allowed to sphere if you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Aqua Sphereing age/height limit: must be aged between 7 and 65 years old and over 3ft 10ins
  • Harness Sphereing age/height limit: must be between 12 and 65 years old and 4ft or over
  • Parental consent is required for all participants under 18 years old
  • The maximum weight limit for sphereing is 18 stone (max girth is 60 ins)

The business judgement regarding customer height/weight is final and may be decided on by the Sphereing staff on the day of the ride. If you have any questions then please contact Customer Services to discuss.

What should I wear when Sphereing?

When you've booked the date you want to go Sphereing then you should turn up wearing comfy, non-restrictive clothes. For Harness and Eclipse Sphereing you'll need to be covered up on your shoulders and neck (don't want any chafing from the harness!). For Aqua Sphereing you should wear comfy clothes you don't mind getting absolutely soaking wet - don't forget to bring a change with you!

What's the difference between Sphereing and Zorbing?

Not everyone has heard of Sphereing - but some may have heard of Zorbing. What's the difference between them?

The answer is not much at all! They're exactly the same activity - you clamber inside a giant ball and then bounce your way downhill, laughing hysterically as you go. Zorbing was originally set up in New Zealand and has been brought to the UK by a variety of companies under several different names.
