About Newcastle United Football Club
For people in the city of Newcastle, a one team town, Newcastle United FC is religion; and if that is the case then the magnificent St. James is their cathedral. The stadium sits on the top of a hillside looming large over the city that it dominates, inspiring young Geordies to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Milburn and Shearer before them.Whenever the name Newcastle United is spoken, mention of the Toon Army is never far away. This is the nickname given to the club’s notoriously fanatical support, and it is these men, women and children who are responsible for creating the near incomparable atmosphere that fills St. James Park on a fortnightly basis.
Newcastle United are the most successful and decorated club in the North-East of England, and the stadium is sold out for nearly every game. With that in mind, the stadium tour represents one of the only ways to gain access to the ground. Nowhere else in the country can there be a city, football club and stadium so in sync with one another; don't miss your opportunity to see it.
Facts about Newcastle United and St James' Park
- St. James’ Park has a huge and magnificent cantilever that can be seen across the city of Newcastle, indeed it is the largest cantilever in Europe. What on earth is a cantilever? It’s a roof to you and us.
- The famous Gallowgate End is at the north face of the stadium, it takes its name from the old City Gallows that were nearby.
- St. James park remains on its original foundations, and redevelopment has been slow and gradual due to resistance form local resistance. This is the reason for the stadium’s slightly odd, but nevertheless impressive asymmetrical nature; not cowboy builders.

If you’re a true "Toon Army" recruit, then this experience really does represent your nirvana! As NUFC themselves say, this is your chance to ‘Be That Local Hero’. The first part of the day is living like a player with a footballer’s breakfast and training with top coaches. You'll have an amazing three course lunch with some real NUFC legends followed by an behind-the-scenes tour |
This is a great day out for all the family. You will be able to experience a range of the amazing views available in this grand stadium, from the highest point in the stands to the managerial hot-seat itself. To get there you can walk through the players tunnel under the ‘Howay the Lads’ banner, and feel like a true premiership superstar! |
Customer Reviews of our Newcastle United gift experiences
My nephew is a huge Magpies fan but doesn’t get tickets to many of the matches, so I thought this trip would be a great idea from him. He absolutely loved it, specially being able to go into the home dressing room and sit in Shearer's old seat! The Lunch we had was really lovely, and the private box was stylish and had fantastic views. A really good day all round, great gift Buyagift.

The Ultimate St James’ Park experience was quite simply the best day of my life. Just to meet some of my heroes was amazing, but to train with them and have a meal with them was just unbelievable. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who loves their team!

All my kids (and my fiancée!) are big Newcastle fans so I decided to treat them to a behind-the-scenes look around St James Park. I saw the family ticket on Buyagift, and it is really good value, so I will definitely be telling a few friends!
