- The original Thoresby Hall, the Duke of Kingston's residence, was destroyed by fire in 1745 and rebuilt further away from the Chestnut grove, and still stands today.
- The main fronts of Thoresby measure 180 feet on the east and principal entrance, 159 on the west, and 182 on the south.
- The chimney piece in Thoresby library is elaborately carved to look like Nottingham forest, with herds of deer and supported on either side by statuettes of Robin Hood and Little John.

Thoresby Hall and the hotel and Spa facilities are just fantastic. All the staff are very polite and friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. Meals are to die for, La Bistro is fine dining at its best.

What a brilliant idea to have a spa day after work - who thought of that? It was so relaxing being able to wind down and get pampered after a stressful day at the office! Thoresby Hall is a really incredible health spa - they have an 'ice cave' and an 'aromatherapy cave' and 'experience showers' which are all just as exciting as they sound! Definitely something I'll do again!

Thoresby hall spa impressed me very much, never had a spa treatment that's anything like their detoxifying Algae Wrap, and the facial I had was very well matched to my skin type and left my face glowing. Found the idea of an Ice Cave intriguing, oh and the lunch was very nice as well. Just wish I could have stayed there for a week instead of just for one spa day!

I have to say the Rhassoul at my day spa was so much better than I even thought it would be! No wonder Cleopatra did it! After my treatment, my skin felt so ridiculously soft and silky I could barely believe it! The rest of the facilities at Thoresby are first rate too - I particularly enjoyed flitting between the freezing 'ice cave' and the heated 'aromatherapy cave'!
