Wizened beards being sagely stroked, knights out on the joust, battles, bravery, virtue, decorum, only ever round coffee tables, and above all the big cheese himself, King Arthur. Camelot housed it all legend decrees, but as mythical as it all may be, Excalibur and that lot, it’s not a patch on Chorley’s Camelot Theme Park, home to legendary rides like the Pendragon’s Plunge, the Knightmare, Sir Lancelot’s Chargers and the ominous Dungeons of Doom.
Delivering amusement of legendary proportions since 1984, Camelot encompasses a whiff of magic for young and old alike. The Earl Grey crowd might steep themselves in the lore of the Cup & Sorcerer, Merlin's Magic Show is perfect for young magician’s apprentices, whilst those after unforgettable flights of fancy can wing it with Falcon’s Flight.
If that wasn’t enough, make sure you see the Jousting Tournament, a live joust performed by Camelot’s resident knights and led by none-other than King Arthur himself. This is the UK's only full-time jousting arena.
They say Excalibur was the legendary sword of King Arthur, endowed with the power of rightful sovereignty of Great Britain. We can’t quite promise that, but entry to Camelot Theme Park definitely grants you a ticket to ride.
