The Old Cider House Hotel facts
- The Old Cider House was bought in 2001 and turned into a friendly guest house by Ian Pearson and Lynne Abbot; Londoners frustrated by tube commutes, longing to escape to a rural retreat.
-
The Old Cider House is the only hotel in the UK to have its very own on-site microbrewery, where Ian brews his own largers, which he provides both for guests and the three local pubs. The Old Cider House beer tasting weekends are famous for fun entertainment and brilliant hospitality.
- Something of a gourmet, Ian and his partner Lynne cook house speciality meals for their guests, with produce from their garden or that has been locally sourced. Previous specials have included mini Stowey Brewery Ale sausage toads, and rasperry wheat beer trifle.

Customer Reviews of The Old Cider House Hotel
Me and my girlfriend fancied a weekend away somewhere quiet but didn't want to drive for hours, so when I saw this weekend break package on Buyagift I thought it looked perfect. The Old Cider House Guesthouse is brilliant, we had the Castle Room which my girlfriend loved. It's a great location if you just want to get out in the country for a bit, we did some walking which was nice. Lovely full english breakfast both mornings, we ate dinner in the village one of the nights, and at the Cider House on the other.
