Ever since Top Gun shot down all the box office opposition in 1986, fighter pilots have epitomised the very essence of cool; aviator sunglasses, those awesome flight jackets, incredibly fast planes, the oft-mentioned need for speed, and that sugary sweet soundtrack. And let’s not forget the coolness of remedying those tiresome hostile actions before hitting err… cruise control… and getting the girl.
The only problem with wanting to emulate the adventures of Maverick, Iceman and Goose (poor, tragic Goose) is that you'd have to join the air force and spend years learning to fly the blasted fighter planes.
