Elemis Intercontinental Spa Facts
-
Due to Mayfair’s astronomical levels of prestige, it's paid host to a number of rather illustrious residents: the infant Queen Elizabeth II, Mr. Frederic Handel, Mr. Maugham, the experienced Mr. J. Hendrix and a whole slew of others, not to mention you if you decide to indulge yourself!

1949 saw the first InterContinental hotel commence operations in Belém, Brazil. Amongst their assemblage of prestigious guests, Intercontinental can count Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Mrs. Marcos (she of the passing shoe fixation) and the Reagans. Heady fellow guests indeed to share plush interiors with, or monocles, or cravats and cognac.

Customer Reviews of Elemis Intercontinental Spa
I had a wonderful time at the Intercontinental Spa - we were handed a glass of champagne when we walked in, which was a lovely touch. The luxury steam temple treatment with the mud feels very relaxing, and it's very pretty in there. We each had a fantastic treatment for a whole hour (!) in the VIP suite afterwards. This is a top class spa, highly recommended if you get the opportunity to go.

We both went for the Luxury Steam Temple spa treatment, not quite sure what we were in for. We liked the sound of the word 'luxury' though! The beautician was really professional and we had a mud treatment and steam cleansing. We've now booked in our other two flatmates for their Christmas gift! (Shhh...don't tell them!)

I'm always up for trying out a new spa treatment and this "steam temple" sounded fabulous! The experience was everything it lived up to be and the health spa itself was great. The champagne helped too! Well worth a try!
