- Arden learned massage techniques in Paris, and when she returned to North America she introduced modern eye makeup to the public, who had previously thought makeup only suitable for actresses.
- Florence was revolutionary in the beauty treatment and cosmetic fields, collaborating with a chemist to bring a scientific approach to makeup, creating the idea of co ordinating lip, cheek and fingernail cosmetics and making the first cosmetics commercial to be shown in movie houses.

Elizabeth Arden is a classic beauty brand so I was sure that this Red Door Spa Experience would be great. I had a fabulous facial after my beautician asked me a few questions about my skin, she obviously knew her stuff. They touch up your make-up afterwards too which is lovely. Their signature manicure was the best I've ever had, the skin on my hands felt so soft afterwards, it was wonderful, and my nails looked great. After all that pampering I was ready for my lunch, and a little bit of retail therapy seeing as you get £15 towards any product!
