About Chelsea FC

Facts about Chelsea and Stamford Bridge
- No one really knows for sure where the name Stamford Bridge comes from. Some say the term evolved during the grounds infancy due to the existence of a nearby stream known as ‘Stanford Creek’ and the ‘Stanley Bridge’ that ran over it. Others however say the name is homage to King Harold’s famous victory over the Vikings at the Battle of Stamford Bridge!
- Don’t admit it to fans of Fulham, but Chelsea FC’s home of Stamford Bridge actually lies just outside Chelsea, situated in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
- Stamford Bridge is the centre-piece of the aptly named ‘Chelsea Village’. This area includes everything you expect from a traditional English village from a five star hotel with gym and spa complex to a critically acclaimed marketing and corporate events suite! Oh, and there are several restaurants and nightclubs, so plenty for you to do when the tour is over!
- José Mourinho demanded a complete refurbishment of the stadium décor when he arrived at the club. The press reported that this was to make the players feel like champions, however we can in fact reveal that he was actually more concerned with the comfort of all Buyagift customers!*

Me and all three of my kids are Chelsea mad and loved our football stadium tour. I got the tickets on Buyagift as it was excellent value for all five of us (we dragged their mum along too!). Was brilliant to get a good look around Stamford Bridge, the kids were unbelievably excited by it all, and I must say the stadium tour is really well done. - a must for Chelsea fans.

I got my husband a Chelsea football archive book as he is such a big fan of the blues and he loved it - I was impressed with how incredibly well the book was made and it comes with lots of great details like pictures of the footballers and newspaper cuttings.
