About our Wembley Stadium Tours
The brand new Home Of Football - Wembley Stadium! Wembley was the home of some of the most important matches in English and world football history - not least the epochal 1966 World Cup final between England and West Germany (and we all know how that one ended, don't we?). Demolished in 2003, the old Wembley Stadium with its iconic Twin Towers may be no more but the new and improved Wembley Stadium, with its ultra-modern facilities and equally iconic sweeping Wembley Arch, has taken up the footballing torch to carry on the legend.
A tour of Wembley will give you a behind the scenes view of the new stadium and its facilities. See inside the changing rooms where your favourite England stars get ready for the match, see the Royal Box and walk through the tunnel that the teams take on game night. If there's a football fan in your family, or if you're all soccer-mad then a tour of wembley is an excellent family day out.
Facts for your Wembley Stadium Tour
- The Wembley Arch stands about 140m above the pitch, is 7m in diameter and weighs 1,750 tonnes. That's a lot of Arch.
-
There are just over 2,600 loos in the new Wembley Stadium. Probably best not to wait until half-time though?
- There are 90,000 seats in the new Wembley Stadium and if laid out end to end they'd stretch 54 kilometres - or, to put it another way, from the Stadium to Reading in the South-West.
-
Bon Jovi were going to be the first band to play at the new Wembley Stadium but the delays in construction forced them into the Milton Keynes National Bowl. George Michael took the honour of giving the first concert at the new Wembley Stadium in June 2007.
-
It's not just football that gets played at Wembley Stadium: October 2007 saw the New York Giants take on the Miami Dolphins in the first regular NFL game to be played outside of America.
- Wembley Stadium stands on the foundations of the aborted Watkin's Tower. This was due to be London's answer to the Eiffel Tower but was cancelled after problems with the foundations. When the new Wembley Stadium was built with a lower pitch the remains of the foundations to Watkin's Tower were discovered.

The name Wembley has a magnetism and excitement that is unique - that will never change. Wembley is known around the world as the home of football but on a more personal level, England and my greatest moments are intertwined with the name Wembley...

If your family is fanatical about football then the perfect gift could well be a family day out at Wembley Stadium. Take the kids and see behind the scenes of the all-new, all-modern, Wembley Stadium. This could be their inspiration to become the new Beckham or Ronaldo!
