Many Orient Express Pullman carriages have been involved in events of historical importance, including the state visit of French President Charles de Gaulle in 1960 and the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill in 1965. For our 40th anniversary our family clubbed together to send both me and my husband for a trip on the Northern Belle. We've always wanted to go on the Orient Express so this was a wonderful gift. To have brunch and then such a fabulous dinner on the way back too was very indulgent, it really was a perfect day.

I'm a major fan of Agatha Christie's murder on the orient express so this murder mystery aboard the actual Orient Express was more than I could ever have imagined! In fact to call it merely a train is doing it a disservice - more a luxurious moving restaurant on rails! The meals we had on board were absolutely delicious! Champagne too!
