What is Airkix Indoor Skydiving?
Indoor skydiving is a flight experience that lets you recreate the freefall feeling of skydiving without having to jump out of a perfectly good plane.
The art of indoor skydiving (or bodyflying, as it is often called) is an emerging sport. It's practiced regularly by skydivers who find the wind tunnel of Airkix cheaper and easier to learn in. There are, however, a growing number of indoor skydivers who have never done a 'proper' skydive, and never want to!
Indoor skydiving is safe, not weather dependent, cheaper than a regular skydive package and you get more freefall time - it's the perfect adrenaline thrill!
Can I fly at Airkix Indoor Skydiving centre?
As long as you're in reasonable shape, health and fitness wise, then there's no reason why you can't enjoy the thrills of an indoor skydiving flight.
It's important to note that if you have a history of neck, back, heart or dislocation problems then you should seek professional medical advice before flying.
There are some other criteria that might also prevent you from flying:
- The maximum weight is 18 stone (114kg)
- Minimum age is 5
- Under 18s must have signed parental permissions
- Indoor skydiving is not suitable for pregnant people
- No-one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be permitted to fly
- Must not be wearing a hard cast
- Must have signed the Statement of Risk
Is Airkix suitable for people with disabilities?
There are quite a few regular indoor skydivers who are disabled, and Airkix will do their best to fly anyone with a disability. If the disability is physical it is almost always possible to experience an Airkix flight.
While it is not possible to guarantee that you will be able to fly, Airkix guarantee that they will try their best to help you fly. You might want to contact Customer Services to discuss your particular needs.
