In May 2013, Alton Towers will launch its biggest ever rollercoaster - the Smiler. Whilst many of the details are still a closely guarded secret, the coaster will feature adrenaline pumping speeds of 85km/hr and a plummeting drop of 30m. Visit the UK's number 1 Theme Park from 16th March when it opens for the 2013 season and book an appointment at The Sanctuary. Experience a preview of The Smiler as you enter this recently re-opened facility for a refreshing check-up, but a terrifying twist awaits!
With over 50 rides and attractions, the Alton Towers Resort is Britain's Greatest Escape in 2013. Alongside The Smiler is a line-up of adrenaline-pumping coasters including the iconic Nemesis and Oblivion, Rita, TH13TEEN and Air. For those after gentle thrills, Ice Age the 4D Experience is back for its second year with an exhilarating variety of physical effects including icy blasts, snow and bubbles. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet both Sid and Scrat around the Alton Towers Resort.
