An ideal day for railway enthusiasts: a brilliant behind-the-scenes glance at the goings on at Kent and East Sussex Railway - one of England's finest rural light railways. Your day includes visiting craftsmen at work in the Carriage and Wagon Workshop before exploring the railway's locomotive engineering facility, loco yard and signal box. Lunch at the restaurant is just what you need to prepare for an afternoon visit to Colonel Stephen's museum before taking a 21 mile round trip on the railway to finish things off.
Upon arrival at the railway you'll meet at the Tenterden buffet for introductions, a safety briefing and beverages. Next on the agenda is a visit to the Carriage & Wagon shed before boarding the 10.40am express to Tenterden. After a lovely journey you'll detrain at Rolvenden where you'll visit Rolvenden box, visit loco shed, tour the Rolvenden site and watch the arrival and watering of the 11.42 ex Bodiam from Rolvenden yard. Head back to Tentertden for lunch before paying a visit to the museum and a full line train ride. Finish up in Tenterden for beverages and a review of the day.
