This is your chance to take advantage of a service normally reserved for the professional cricketer. To perform to the best of your ability you need the right bat. With this unique experience master bat makers will assess your size, shape and weight to help you get the exact bat to suit your style of play. You will be involved through the whole process from choosing the willow to the polishing of the completed blade.
You will visit the bat making workshops at Somerset County Cricket Ground. Here, under the guidance of master bat makers, you will be assessed for the dimensions and profile of your bat. Then you will select your own wood; the English willow used is sourced from farms dedicated to growing willow for bat making. Then watch as your bat is crafted, finished and polished.

This experience is available at Somerset:

  • Somerset (South West) - Taunton
Your voucher is valid for 10 months. You must pre-book a date for your experience. This experience is suitable for males and females of all ages and lasts approximately 2-3 hours.
Every bat that leaves the workshop is guaranteed for one year.
This experience is exceptionally good value as non-bespoke cricket bats from this bat maker can retail at £250.00.

Amazing Skill This was bought for me last Christmas but only organised myself to get down there in November and it was fabulous. Exteremely talented and skillful and also very friendly and informative as they worked. It was a miracle watching them turn a lump of wood into the best bat you'll ever own in 2 and half hours. It may seem a lot but these guys make bats for Tendulkar and many other top pros so it's well worth it. 01 December 2011
Great Gift For All Cricketers Purchased this gift for my son's 21st Birthday and he loved it. After taking the time to talk to my son about the best type of bat for him, we then moved into the workshop where he selected a piece of wood and then we watched as the wood was crafted into an amazing bat. This whole experience took approx. 3 hours and was worth the money, the time and skill put into making the bat was great to see and at the end of the day you have a one off bat. My son now has the memory of a lovely afternoon and also he has a great bat that he will have pleasure using and hopefully he will score lots of runs!! We took my 17 year old son along with us (also a keen cricketer) and i can honestly say that he would love this gift also. We will be back! 03 May 2011
