Enjoy unlimited travel for the day along the railway tracks. Stretching out over several miles, there is plenty of beautiful surrounding countryside to see, plus many unique station buildings along the line. This ticket gives you the freedom to explore local villages and unspoiled countryside at your leisure as you hop on and off classic locomotives - perfect for a relaxing day out.
You may get on and off the train at stations of your choice throughout the day. There is a buffet car on some trains and stations selling light refreshments. Stops include Wirksworth Station, Idridgehay Station, Ravenstor Station and Duffield Station. Please note that the trains are Heritage diesel, not steam trains. This experience operates on the following dates and times:

Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday 9th April 2011 - Sunday 30th October 2011:
Trains depart Wirksworth Station at 09:55, 10:20, 11:55, 12:20, 13:55, 14:20, 15:55 and 16:20.

Saturdays from Saturday 5th November 2011 to Saturday 24th March 2012:
Trains depart Wirksworth Station at 11:20, 13:20 and 15:20.

Bought an adult and a child rover steam train ticket for myself and my daughter to use whilst staying at my mother's. I think the tickets are good value and because you can get on and off as you please you get to see much more of the local area. We had a great day out just visiting the lovely villages along the line.
