Tour of Silverstone
what a great three hours we spent at silverstone,I never knew so much went on there and so much to see,the guides which are racing drivers themselves in one form or another were informative and intresting.I took my friend who is not really into motor racing but still enjoyed the day.

Brilliantly interesting
Really interesting insight into silverstone racetrack and the history behind. The tour guides had unbelievable knowledge of everything to do with silverstone. Highly recommended even if your not a racing nut.

A real treat for motorsport fans
As F1 followers, Silverstone is THE place for the British Grand Prix but is not solely just about F1. This came more apparent as the morning went on and the instructors who were our guides were so helpful - our guide Tim very obviously enjoyed his job and was very informative, it was a no holds barred tour. We got all the nitty gritty detail about the history of the track, the extent of the enormity of the costs involved in running the place (£300k per year just to cut the grass!), and how it is developing for the future.
We started off in the Visitor Centre outside the track and were a large party of 60 before being split up into four mini bus loads which in turn went two a piece for the tour so that we all got to do the same but just in a different order.
You get to visit the BRDC and it's a very weird feeling knowing that you are walking in the footsteps of hundreds of great drivers over the years. It's quite hard to concentrate sometimes as you are naturally drawn to the noise on the track if there is a track day also going on! You then move on to the pits straight and we felt so privileged to be there, all the new plush entertainment suites for Bernie, the media centre for TV crews and journalists, the not so plush commentary boxes, the Auditorium where the drivers hold the press conferences after the race and, of course, the podium. It's just all so surreal and a real treat to see it up close.
A really enjoyable morning (about 2 1/2 hours) which, if I could make better then would have loved to have been driven around the track in my Jenson Button bus (if I can't have the real thing then his mini bus would have to do!:-)
We both really enjoyed the experience and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone - well done Silverstone and Buyagift!

Superb tour
Excellent tour, we managed to get a look around the BRDC building which is only available when not in use. Lasted a good 2 and a half hours and all the staff were knowledgeable. The coaches are excellent!
