On arrival you are free to explore the Castle for as long as you want. There are several daily attractions including the one o'clock guns, traditional Scottish music and various costumed events throughout the day for you to enjoy. Guided tours of the castle are free to all those attending.

Edinburgh Castle is open from 9.30am, closing times may vary according to the season. Child tickets are valid for ages 5 - 15 years; adult tickets are valid for ages 16 - 59, and concessions include those over 60. Children under 5 years of age may enter for free. Edinburgh Waverly station is the city's main train station with direct train routes from locations across the UK. When exiting Edinburgh Waverley Edinburgh Castle is, conveniently, in full view.
An alternative station to Waverly is Edinburgh Haymarket station which is less than a 10 minute walk.
Edinburgh Castle is a quick (uphill) walk from Edinburgh's busy Princes Street and Lothian Road. Plenty of buses operate along these routes with a quick and easy access to the city's New Town and its wealth of retail outlets.
If flying into Edinburgh, there is a frequent express bus to the city centre for just £3.

Wheelchair access is available throughout much of the castle. However due to the age of the attraction some areas will not be suitable due to width restrictions. Areas which may pose a problem are the Military Prisons, St Margaret's Chapel, Queen Mary's Room, King's Dining Room and the Crown Jewels (however these can be viewed from Crown Square).
