Better than Versailles!

Allow a whole day for this experience as it includes day admission to the palace (with a free guided tour) and the very extensive gardens (designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown). That admission ticket (exchanged for a voucher) could then be converted (again free of charge) into an annual pass to Blenheim Palace in the event that you wish to return. Having enjoyed the palace, tea is served in the (private) Indian Room and is every bit as good as other reviews suggest. Two of the largest fruit scones ever baked (with cream and jam), nine exquisite finger sandwiches and six bite size cakes/pastries for just two of us together with bottomless tea/coffee and, of course, the (rather good) champagne. Given that the palace/park admission price alone would have been £38 for the two of us the 'gift' itself was extremely good value.

We dealt with four or five members of Palace staff during our arrival, tour of the building and the afternoon tea and all of them knew of the gift procedure. the Palace was amazing with informative exhibitions and displays. the tea was lovely, plenty of delicious food served by friendly and helpful staff.
