The View from the Shard with Michelin Dining for Two
View from The Shard
Visited The Shard with a monosyllabic 16 year old who loved it and was very vocal, result! The staff were really helpful despite having said the same thing over and over again, the lifts and the building were not surprisingly high tech as were the viewing cameras/telescopes, you weren't rushed and could spend as much time as you wanted up there. There are two viewing galleries so don't forget to visit both. If you've taken a camera my best shots were pointing up in the air, the intersecting ironwork pipes etc. makes a interesting photo and the photo I took from the glass mezzanine on the stairwell gives perspective on the height and the view. Use the toilets up there, interesting experience. My only criticism was that is was costly for what it was! Enjoy!

Amazing day out
We travelled by train to waterloo, taxi to Borough Market for our lunch at Del Mercato .
2 course Lunch with glass of Prosecco was very enjoyable. We then made our way to the Shard.
just a short walk away from the market. A little problem with tickets & booking, but
this was eventually sorted out & we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The views
are quite spectacular & staff are pleasant & helpful. An amazing experience and one
we will always remember. Highly recommended.

Excellent View of London, Lovely welcoming staff, even although the entrance via the underground/station is a little weird.
It is stylish, and you don't feel like you are in a typical 'sheep' herding tourist attraction.
Best of all no time frame, so we spent about an hour and a half in total there, from arrival to leaving the building.

over priced, over hyped
we turned up at 1130 for a 1200 booking. we got told to return at 1155 as it was busy. when we returned, all the 1200 slots had been booked. even though our paperwork from buyagift said 1200,this means nothing to the staff at the shard. this is because buyagift do NOT tell the shard, so they are unaware of the booking. ( beware of this if you think you have a confirmed booking). luckily we got in for 1230, so it could have been worse. at the top, there are very modern telescopes that show you what you are looking at along with descriptions. we only found one that actually worked! the rest of them were out of action. it was too crowded for a decent view. very underwhelmed by the experience. on a plus side, the visit we made to the borough market whilst waiting to go up was very enjoyable. I recommend it, especially if you need something to eat and don't fancy the bland macdonalds nearby.

the shard experience was a well organised venue with attentive but unobtrusive staff with easy bookin to exchange voucher for tickets.
The shard was clean and tidy and with soft lighting .
The views was spectacular, with the upper open air floor the better of the two platforms
All in all i would recomend this experience to anyone

An experience not to miss
Bit of a cloudy day to start but finished up really sunny and by the time we had got to the viewing floor it was really sunny. Great to see all the historical buildings, even closer with the telescopes, we stayed for about 40mins and with the help of one of the guides learnt alot about London, champagne was good too.

Had a great time at the Shard, a perfect gift.
Was a great experience from start to finish. Lifts that take you up are
quick and smooth. The view at the top though speaks for itself, it's London's skyline and it's great. We had a perfect day weather wise too and could see for miles.

The view from the shard was breathtaking! Whether you are a Londoner (like me) or a tourist the shard is a must see. The tickets are not cheap but are most definitely worth forking out for.
