I was unsure of what to get my partner for Christmas so thought I'd choose something completely different that we could both enjoy. Vouchers arrived promptly & were nicely presented.
I was fearful that it would all be a bit "set up" & fake but it wasnt at all like this. Ran by professionals in a very professional way. We experienced a number of interesting things on our night and it was well worth the money I paid.
I would definietly recommend this experience to others & have done so already, we will be going again!

Ghost Hunting at Alton Towers... 'Do I Believe??'

YES! I think I do.... I want to believe but I think I need proof hence the booking of this event....Sceptical as I am the main reason to attend this event was to actually see, feel & hear it for myself...
We arrived, my friend and myself for this unknowing what to expect. The setting was excellent we arrived at 8:45pm and were directed along the dark path which was passing the 'Towers' and at 3 degrees and pitch dark this certainly gave a good start to what was to be a very unusual night. Stupidly I forgot to check my camera battery packs but I had two and both were cold dead and did not allow me to take any pictures (which really disappointed me) but thought was this unusual or was it just coincidence?.... same happened to my friends but her second battery worked despite both being fully charged the night before... I mentioned this to my hubby on the phone as I called to let him know we had arrived safely and as I did so someone else in the group overheard and informed me their camera has done the exact same.... Ohhh we were spooked already lol) Our group consisted of approx 40 people like ourselves in search of the real experience, we all had our torches and were wrapped up for the freezing temperatures but fireing with enthusiasm and uncertainty of what lay ahead.....
Our 3 hosts/guides were excellent, all bringing their own expertise to the groups and maintained the enthusiasm of all in the group through out the whole night.
But what was ahead of us??? We had 7 hours ahead of us to really get stuck in... Which we did.. The evening started with an opening welcome and explanation of what we were going to be doing as the night progressed... We also had some equipment which we could use to help us on our hunt (K2s/Sonic Booms (I don't know real names but they magnify noise) Ohhhh these things are great! heat detectors and temperature gauges then off we went...........
Without giving all the details we visited several rooms and had a basic background update and opportunity just to get a feel for the area/rooms and our Barings of the building we were later to explore.. During this initial guided tour of the rooms I had the pleasure of utilising the Sonic Boom Not long into the rooms I heard a wind noise, yes this could easily have been from outside but honestly sounded as if someone had come right up to the mic and blew straight into it..... Weighing out the odds I was listening and had many noises pass my ears including lots of windy noises from outside through the broken windows but nothing as direct/loud or close as this felt. In another room again the group were stood in a circle listening to the host calling out for spirits and telling the stories of what had been then suddenly a gentle female humming noise very similar to t he tune of ' I could have danced all night' passed by me left to right away from the circle as if waltzing.... shiverrrrssssssssss! I shouted out to the group but only myself heard it but the host did say he was about to tell us about a lady often heard sining in this room.... It was initially OMG but then I felt fine no fear just calm and happy.. was I actually experiencing the spirits directly as no one else heard this ??? We headed back to base and were then split into groups to go off with a Host and carry out some experiments... yipeee..
Did I say I really wanted to experience first hand the existence of communication with the other side.... Our experiment was to use a glass on the table to move ... I was definitely first in!!!!!!! I had my index finger gently touching the glass and definitely not touching enough to even indent my finger or move anything... Always looking for an alternative explanation I was certainly watching everyone else’s fingers too! Nobody had enough pressure on their fingers to even change their nail colour which you see if you gently press your finger onto a surface.. Ok I think I had every angle covered. A red light was in place and we started to ask the spirits present to communicate using our energy and move the glass to the light as a yes/no... After a couple of asks the glass slowly moved but this was only an inch or so and then it stopped I asked a few questions and was shocked to be getting a response ( this was for real) still no reason to doubt the group sharing the glass as everyone was only touching the glass with the tips of fingers and no pressure was visible... I'm impressed. The glass moved several times but only for a inch or so again and very slow nothing fast or furious... (we did try!) My heart was starting to tick along to a nice rhythm
We then moved around the groups so everyone could have a go at different levels... Our next experiment was to try Rods? Two metal rods which you held in separate hands and asked questions to gain answers.. the rods would cross or open, move away or follow an individual... We saw some working and communication was being had but this was not first hand as our group when split into small groups to try did not achieve much success... we had some movement but these rods felt magnetic and perhaps for our group anyway we needed alternative proof. Please remember this is my own experience and may be different with you... you may have success?
On to our final split group sessions which was a chanting .. this was good... We held hands called for spirits to come forth and join us, we had several moments in the group when somebody was touched, prodded, one lady had an unusual ora hovering around her and was removed from the circle by the guide to protect!... this was interesting to watch.
Oh I forgot to mention we did the typical Yvette 'Most Haunted' call outs eg. Copy me (whistle) throw this back to me and so on.... A whistle was returned but I personally did not hear this, and when a stone was thrown (This was earlier when we were given a chance to walk around ourselves.... A lady in our group threw a stone and then what sounded like some thing hitting the wall behind her was heard by majority of the group... was it the stone or as suggested someone pressing a switch on their equipment??? we never got any further responses to clarify...) Back to the evening....
We were all brought together for the final section of the night and this I think was called 'Tipping'?? Firstly we linked hands and everyone was encouraged to chant then we had individually to speak tot he spirits asking to come forward.... A few K2s flashed and this built up the energy of the group we had a few people being touched, a ball which one group brought with them was moved into the circle without being touched by anyone, one lady had someone try crawling through her legs into the circle as we inviting the spirits to come into this circle we had made for them.... During the individual requests a guy asked for the spirit to give him proof this was real... This was his second encounter that night and just wanted it to confirm itself... He was offered the opportunity to stand away from the group in a corner opposite a doorway... HE DID!!!!! (Oh don't think I could have been that brave!).. he was fine he stood and was pretty clam... the group continued the experiment and a lady was selected to come into the circle to be the volunteer... She accepted and stood into the circle , she was quietly spoken to by the host and suddenly looked as if she had just dropped off to sleep....
I did not hear what was said to her but whenthe host asked her some questions she was silent... ODD? Yeah I agree, she was non-responsive or so I thought... Actually what was happening is her body was giving the answers to the questions and I then realised she was gently moving forward onto her tip toes to answer 'YES' and backwards onto her heels to answer 'No' this was all very balanced and I don't think someone could consciously sustain this detailed balance to this extent so I think I witnessed a genuine spirit take over of a human body! Again during this section I took the opportunity to ask questions when it was given out to the group... and again I received answers .... Almost forgot our brave soldier who went out of the group...By this point he was starting to fell different to his initial reaction and was light headed and concerned that his shadow was not moving with him when he moved... he was brought back into the circle for protection.... So glad I didn't do that one!
The circle was closed and the night was over we were given a closing summary of the evenings events/happening and this was interesting as things happened in other groups that we were unaware of. So we said our thanks and goodbyes and the night was brought to a close.
I know that many are unsure and most defiantly certain noises and happenings can be explained but I found myself in a position of being unable to explain why certain things happened as they did and this certainly gives me hunger for more.
May I just add this was my first Fright Nights Ghost Hunting Experience and before this the only other encounter of this kind I have had was whenattending Most Haunted Live event a few Halloweens ago and although others did I personally did not experience or see anything to give me my clarity... last night I did!
Overall: an excellent experience for my first ghost hunt I can happily say I did not get scared, my adrenaline was rushing but I felt safe enough to get involved and experience first hand the happenings of the night which I can 100% say hand on heart for me this was much much more than I had ever expected... I did have something else happen to me during the event which I am not going to mention as it is somewhat more personal to me as an individual but its safe to say I got several strong steps and more than I had bargained for to my clarity that I think I needed .... THANK YOU Fright Nights!
