An Afternoon to Remember

Our afternoon started when we took a London Cab: to The Grosvenor House, if you please! We arrived early and were warmly welcomed. A quite buzz of conversation, the pianist playing gently in one corner, tables laid with crisp white cloths and delicated china. A feeling of ambience penetrated the atmosphere. We were shown to our table - a window one. We graciously waved to pedestrians when not involved in consuming the delectables. The choice of teas was simply overwhelming. The sandwiches delicious, with the proviso that there were always more if needed. They were. Cakes, scones, cream. We came out with a "doggy bag". A wonderful experience. A marvellous afternoon out.
