The Rubens gives you a choice for every occasion – from cocktails to light snacks, traditional English afternoon tea to fine dining. The Palace Lounge is where friends meet for drinks, snacks, or their famous afternoon tea of freshly baked scones, finger sandwiches, and homemade cakes. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for watching the activity at the Royal Mews opposite, complemented exquisitely by soft background music played by the resident pianist. Enjoy a truly sophisticated afternoon break!
Arrive at your leisure in the late afternoon and make your way to the Palace Lounge, where you can enjoy a Royal spread of fresh scones, delicious light sandwiches, heavenly homemade cakes and of course, a variety of teas or coffee. The resident pianist plays from 1pm - 5pm.

The afternoon tea includes fresh scones with jam and cream, finger sandwiches, homemade cakes and a choice of teas or coffee for each person. This experience is available Sunday to Friday only.

I bought the Afternoon Tea voucher for my sister-in-law for Christmas. She kindly asked me to go with her so we came up to London and did some shopping then found our way to the Rubens Hotel. From the moment we entered the hotel we were treated like royalty. We had a window seat and enjoyed a wonderful assortment of sandwiches, cakes and scones with lashings of tea, whilst watching the world go by. A wonderful experience.

I adored the Rubens our afternoon tea in the Palace Lounge was fabulous everything we wanted. The decor is lovely very elegant and the sandwiches scones and cakes were delicious - a lovely end to our day in London.

I took my mum up to London for a day out and as a surprise booked us afternoon tea at the Rubens. She was so excited! The Palace Lounge felt very luxurious. Tea was lovely tasty cakes scones and sandwiches and the staff were very attentive. I know she's told all her friends about it!
