Aston Dumfries Hotel is located on the tranquil 100 acre Crichton Estate and provides a haven from everyday life. The hotel is located in a rural setting making it a perfect gateway to spend the afternoon drinking fine tea or coffee and eating homely scones and cakes. Afterwards you may wish to take a walk in the nearby Gatehouse of Fleet and Mull of Galloway nature and garden reserves.
Upon arrival you will be shown either to the Aston Dumfries restaurant or its contemporary dining room where you will have your afternoon tea. The hotel has undergone a transformation, and the food areas as well as the entire hotel has been tastefully decorated with a warm and tranquil atmosphere. Afternoon tea consists of tea or coffee and a wide selection of cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. Local attractions include St John Castle or Drumlanrig Castle or shopping in Gretna Outlet Shopping Village, Carlisle Lanes Shopping Centre or Tartan and Tweed Shop Gretna Green.

Wonderful food, atmosphere and staff. We are going back because it is superb. What a wonderful gift. On the strength of our experience, we booked a weekend there in late July.
