Travel back in time and be a Knight for the day in this action packed medieval thrills experience. With expert horsemen and actors at your side you will be taught the skills used by Knights including how to use a shield and lance, horse control, how to strike targets, mounted period games and foot fights with swords and quarterstaffs. The event concludes with the chance to dress in medieval costume and show off your skills in a mini medieval tournament.
On arrival you will have your riding skills assessed by an instructor before learning the story of jousting and the purpose of the equipment. You will enjoy a variety of combat training both on and off horse such as shield work and reigning in the horse. After a break for lunch (not included) you will learn the moves for a choreographed battle sequence before dressing in medieval costume for a mini medieval tournament.

Your voucher is valid for 10 months. You need to be reasonably fit in order to get the most from this experience. Maximum weight is 20 stone. Minimum age is 16. Non riders are welcome although some riding experience is an advantage. The experience starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm. The experience runs on weekend and weekday dates from April to October. Spectators are welcome at no extra cost, but dogs are not allowed. Lunch is not included but there are hostelries nearby.

My wife purchased this for me as a birthday present. And I have to say, the whole day I was like a small child with a new toy. The sword fighting was amazing fun while being very challenging as you have to remember the routines. The Jousting was equally exhilarating and the horses were fantastic. The one thing that does not seem to have been mentioned are the instructors. Without there fantastic energy, this whole thing would be average. They were absolutely superb. Thanks.

Best Day Out Forever!

This was bought as a gift for my husband's 40th Birthday and was not disappointing! He got to sword fight, practise archery, have a go on the quintaine and take part in a mini joust as well as learn about knight long ago. When I asked him what his least favourite part of the day was - he said there was nothing! An absolutely fantastic experience for him and a wonderful day out for me and the children. One word of advice though - if you go in the warm, dry weather - take old clothes - we were filthy and the children looked like they'd been up chimneys all day thanks to the dust!!

Me and my boyfriend both purchased this jousting experience so we could go together. It was so much fun! We got a bit competitive towards the end! Ive recommended it to our friends as its such an unusual day out that certainly wont be forgotten in a hurry.

This Jousting Experience was seriously like stepping back into medieval times! I felt like I was in the court of King Arthur at one point during the actual tournament! The horses we were riding were wonderful and the sword fights were so much fun.
