    Brands Hatch is one of the most recognisable driving circuits in UK motor racing. It began life as a farm which became a popular location for cyclists in the mid 1920s. Later motorcyclists joined in, attracted by the farm's natural bowl shape. In 1932 a number of small clubs joined together and had their first meeting in March. The early Brands Hatch track had a 'kidney bean' shape with one very long straight.

    From these humble beginnings Brands Hatch expanded, adding a grandstand, making the circuit considerably longer and widening the existing track. The extra circuit gave Brands Hatch the length required to host a Grand Prix, and in 1964 it hosted the Formula 1 European Grand Prix. To date the last Formula 1 Grand Prix at Brands Hatch was in 1986, but the track continues to host major motorsport competitions such as the British Touring Car Championship and British Superbike Championship. The track continues to be one of the best driving experiences in the UK.
