For a complete motor racing thrill ride experience, there is none greater than the Ariel Atom. With acceleration from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, this may well be the fastest car you ever drive. Open to the elements, you’ll feel the full force as you whip the open, light weight chassis around tight corners and blitz along the straights. Upon arrival at one of the 10 available venues across the UK, you will be greeted by your instructor who will go through a short safety briefing. You will then get the opportunity to get familiarised with the track in a track prepared sports car, before moving onto the main event; a drive in the Ariel Atom for an adrenaline-pumping 6 miles! The actual lap numbers will vary depend on the location, but track times remain mainly the same. Meaning whichever venue to choose, you will have an adrenaline fuelled experience you will never forget.

6th Gear Ariel Atom300 Thrill

1 out of 5 14 November 2015
Location: Wigan, Lancashire Age: 18-24 Bought For Relative Occasion: Birthday
Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the British weather. The rain was torrential and so because in the Atom, the driver is exposed to the wind and rain, wearing a full face helmet that steams up, add to this, the spray from the other 20+ cars on the track overtaking you.and creating low visibility which means that any form of speed over 40mph is virtually impossible, rendering the thrill ride a waste of time and money. I can only imagine how amazing it would be in dry conditions.
What would you improve for next time? As there is nothing that can be done about our weather, the only alternative would be for the instructor to explain to the driver how poor the experience would be and to offer an alternative ride in a different super car with protection from the elements that would at least allow the driver some kind of power / speed experience.

Over too soon

Location: Aldershot Age: Over 65 Bought For Son Occasion: Birthday
Great to be allowed to drive the Atom, fortunately with a skilled driver alongside! There was plenty of other cars available if you have some spare cash. The laps are not really laps as each time you need to enter the pit area - still very fast in places. Best buy through Buyagift as you get more laps for less money than going direct, but read all the details carefully as there are some contradictions . The worst thing is dealing with Supercar Drive - they have an 0845 number which can cost 45p a min. and they seem slow to answer questions. Best allow a week or two and do all communication by email, as you can easily spent more time on the phone to them than driving their car
What would you improve for next time? Get Supercar Drive days to smarten up their selling

Ariel atom thrill

4 out of 5 15 October 2015
Location: Harlow, Essex Age: 25-34 Bought For Brother Occasion: Birthday
Totally amazing experience. I must admit I was worried it wouldn't live up to my expectations, as other track days have let me down in the past. I needn't have worried. The people at Rockingham are friendly and well organised, the briefing was fairly quick (although centred around trying to sell you more stuff I must say) and the instructors are very good, really encouraging you to push on. The Ariel Atom 300 itself is like nothing you will ever drive. The acceleration is just ferocious, and the handling is way more capable than I could ever fully exploit. The 4 laps flew by too quickly but I suppose that's just coz I was having so much fun. Plus it was very satisfying to go flying past an Aston Martin and a Lamborghini with such ease. Seriously the atom is incredible and I'd recommend everyone who loves driving fast cars to try it. *please note this is a 5 star review but for some reason on my phone when I click 5 stars it keeps going back to 4
What would you improve for next time? A full speed hot lap with an instructor. I got a demo lap which was designed to show me the track layout and was very informative and necessary, however it would be nice to get a second lap at speed by an expert to really feel what the car is capable of

Mis-advertised and quite dis-organised

2 out of 5 30 September 2015
Location: Age: 45-54 Bought For Wife Occasion: Just because!
In large wording was the 'two laps with an instructor' and '10 laps' in the Atom. I got 1 lap squashed into a BMW with several others, as 'my' circuit induction lap. Followed by just FOUR laps of the circuit. Would have been a good experience if it had been as advertised. Also, beware of the pressure selling of 'on the day insurance'.
What would you improve for next time? I would buy an experience that detailed the specifics accurately then I would know what to expect

Location: woking Age: 55-64 Bought For Husband Occasion: Christmas
We went to Aldershot/Farnborough. The track was quite long and was good for spectators. Was very well organised and friendly. We had the Ariel Atom and was able to drive up to 120 miles hour. There were also lots of other car experiences so lots to watch. A really enjoyable morning and certainly would do it again.

Car was great, track was the disappointing

3 out of 5 19 July 2015
Location: Northampton Age: 35-44 Bought For Sister Occasion: Birthday
The Ariel Atom is a beast. Anyone who enjoys karting needs to experience it. The downside for me about the experience at Elvington was two fold: 1) The track was marked out with cones and difficult to see where to go for the first 2 laps 2) By the time I had worked out where to go the experience was over. So my recommendation is DEFINITELY drive the car but choose a proper race circuit, not airfield. Also, there was no Tel. no. to contact 6th gear on the day (I was stuck in traffic and worried I would miss it) and 25 GBP for insurance was too expensive.
What would you improve for next time? Needs to be driven on a race circuit

Fantastic Gift

5 out of 5 15 May 2015
Location: Surrey Age: 35-44 Bought For Myself Occasion: Birthday
I bought the voucher for my husband's birthday and we both had a fantastic afternoon! Everyone who worked at the Aldershot Hampshire venue were very polite, friendly and helpful. My husband really enjoyed the car experience and I also decided to pay to do a 'hot lap' around the course as a passenger - which was great!! Would definately recommend to family and friends!
What would you improve for next time? The venue needs to be signposted more from Fleet Road, as we were driving up and down and ended up at the army barracks with 4 other cars who were also looking for the venue!

Supercharged Thrill

5 out of 5 27 October 2014
Location: Southampton Age: 55-64 Bought For Friend Occasion: Birthday
Very well organised from booking to the actual day. The Ariel Atom is as close as most of us will get to a proper (non-tintop) race car and the power delivery is about as much as you would want. Sighting lap was very informative and the instructor was very sensible in that he did not mollycoddle you. I had my experience at Longcross which was a pleasant surprise - tree-lined circuit with a hilly woodland section. Gave me a real sense of speed (unlike an open circuit).
What would you improve for next time? More laps!
