This fantastic driving experience is a great way to discover the world behind the wheel – and where better to get your first taste of driving than the home of British racing? You’ll be delighted as you take to Silverstone’s handling pad, where an expert instructor will teach you the basics of driving – including clutch control, braking and navigation. Suitable for anyone over the age of 13, this is the ultimate driving initiation!
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by your qualified advanced driving instructor, who will give you a short briefing. You will then head out to Silverstone’s purpose built tarmac handling area, where you will enjoy your 2 hour session in a Renault Clio 200 Cup. Your session will be on a one instructor per three student basis – each student will have 25 minutes drive time each and will be present in the vehicle throughout the experience. During your session you will master the art of clutch control, gain familiarisation with gears, learn how to pull away and navigate around those all important obstacles. Your driving experience will end with a debrief.

Great gift This was a Birthday gift to my Grandson who turned 16 in January. He booked for March and from the pictures and video taken by his dad he had a fantastic time. He was lucky and had an instructor to himself who was obviously very good and made the whole experience something special. Certainly a day to remember. 19 March 2011
Great first driving experience I bought this gift for my children F 15 and M 13, both really enjoyed the experience to drive a Renault Clio Cup (140mph car - see picture) around a segregated car park. The car was shared within another teenager with about the same experience of driving (none). Instructor was patient and considerate, all had about 25 mins driving time (10 mins intro) then 15 mins slightly more advanced (cone slalom and emergency stop). Yes you could do this in a closed car park, but not in one of these cars at Silverstone with an independent instructor - overall a great event! 21 August 2013
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DAY OUT!! Yes it was set out in a carpark in the silverstone site...BUT!!! my son is 14 and never driven a car before in his life!! He felt incredibly lucky to have driven a £30.000 cup car for the first time ever! (i would have my heart in my pants if they allowed them on the circuit!) was an amazing bonding experience for me and my moody 14yr old! and was possibly one of the best presents he has ever had from me. I am now looking for the rookie 2 sessions silverstone offer for his 15th birthday! amazing learning experience, the instuctors were funny, friendly and very welcoming! we even stayed after the experience to watch a test drive on the circuit, watching all kinds of sports car do there thing! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! 16 April 2013
Enjoyable Experience Ideal for younger children - 13-15. My 16 year old enjoyed it but as he will be driving for real very very soon it wasn't as excitable as the others found it. Covered loads of items including reversing, going round roundabouts etc. learnt a lot in the time they had. 12 August 2011
