This single seater session is, first and foremost, about sheer speed. As you accelerate around Britain's only oval circuit, you will feel sensations usually reserved for military pilots - eye watering negative, lateral and inline G forces set in as you steer a vehicle capable of achieving 130 mph. No other driving experience in the UK will bring you close to the speed and adrenaline of this unique track session.
One of the senior ARDS qualified instructors begins with a briefing covering safety requirements, experience format, driving technique and some useful tips. Then take control of the 115bhp single seater vehicle that sits just inches above the ground! Spend 20 minutes at the wheel whizzing around the circuit (in groups with an instructor leading in a pace car). The de-brief follows and a certificate of completion is awarded. This experience will last approximately 1.5 hours.

Your voucher is valid for 10 months. The following requirements must be met for this experience: long sleeve shirts and long trousers must be worn. Light, closed toe shoes (trainers/deck shoes are most suitable). Height Min 5’2” Max 6’4”. You must have held a full driving licence for 12 months. Weight Max 18st. Safety equipment will be provided as appropriate (crash helmets, gloves and waterproofs). It is mandatory to wear this equipment and there are no exceptions. The person driving the car will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting liability in the event of damage being caused to the car through their negligence. At most locations, you will have the choice of buying a collision damage waiver for an additional charge of approximately £25 per car. Drivers are under no obligation to purchase this optional waiver. Please ask the operator when booking for further details if required. All dates are subject to availability.

Ideal present for my boyfriend - he loves his cars more than me! His eyes lit up when he found out he would be spending his birthday driving race cars ridiculously fast round Rockingham! He had a brilliant time there and I took some fantastic pictures of him on his 'Formula 1' experience!

I owe my sister big time for getting me this driving experience day! It is something I never thought I'd do getting to drive a genuine racing car and if it wasn't for the photos and certificate I don't think I'd believe that I did it!

I recently attended the Single Seat Driving Thrill at Rockingham Motor Speedway and what a brilliant experience it was. The whole event was extremely well organised from the minute I arrived. The staff at Rockingham are very pleasant and very helpful. The event started with a briefing to cover safety aspects and to give an overview of what was going to happen. This was very well covered and there was an opportunity to ask questions. Soon after we were out on the circuit following the pace car at speeds faster than I expected. On each circuit of the track the speed increased until we were lapping at around 120mph. Rockingham is a banked circuit so coming down off of the banking to take the corners and then back up to the top of the banking increased the enjoyment of the track. At these speeds things happen so quickly and seeing the concrete wall looming at the top of the banking certainly kept the senses keen. A NASCAR was also on the track at the same time which also added to the fun; having to keep an eye out for him whizzing up the inside at around 150mph! Photographs are taken by the resident photographer and can be purchased if you want them after the event. There was certainly no pressure to have them though. What was really good about this is that any guests with you can go with you into the pits and be part of what is going on. So if you are a guest take your camera! This has been one of the best experiences I have had.
