This is your chance to be introduced to the world of microlight flying! Experience the thrill of being sky high and controlling a light aircraft. You will be flown by an experienced pilot who lives and loves flying. It will feel like you are in another world as you see Lancashire from this unique and amazing perspective. This experience is pure magic and will remain a treasured memory forever!
Upon arrival at the aerodrome you will meet with your instructor. They will brief you on the controls of the microlight and explain what will happen once airborne. All the instructors at the centre are passionate about flying and are keen to pass on their knowledge of this sport, so are more than happy to answer any questions. Once the instructor has taxied onto the runaway and taken off, you can take control and fly the microlight. You can be in control for however long you want - it's completely up to you. Control must be passed to the instructor to land the aircraft. You will have a total flight time of 20 minutes.

This experience is available at Lancashire:

  • Lancashire (North) - Lancaster
Your voucher is valid for 10 months for one person; you are free to arrange your experience directly with the flight school. Lessons run from sunrise to sunset. The minimum age for flying is 10 years old; however, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Friends and family are welcome to come along to watch and take pictures. Maximum weight is 16 stone. No previous flight experience is needed. The flight is subject to availability and is dependent on the weather; it is recommended that you call the school on your flying day to check it is safe to fly.

Got a voucher for a 20 minute microlight flight for my birthday thanks to my children. It was a wonderful experience that was over far too quickly! Like nothing I've ever done before. Everything was very well organised you could tell that safety is a priority for them.

I absolutely loved being up in the microlight it's an amazing feeling as you're in the open air with the wind rushing past you! I could see for miles. Definitely try it if you can!
