This 60 minute flight simulator experience is a great way to fly a fighter jet without having to leave the safety of the ground. You’ll learn everything necessary to take control of a plane – including taking off, flying and landing - as you take your seat in the cockpit of a real jet fighter and fly over a virtual landscape under the guidance of an expert instructor. This really is as close as you can get to flying one of these classic planes, and you’ll even be kitted out in a full flight suit including anti-G pants, helmet and mask.
Upon arrival you will be met by your instructor, who will welcome you with complimentary drinks before giving you a pre-flight briefing. You will then be kitted out in a full flight suit, including anti-G pants, helmet and gas mask. Your instructor will then take you to the simulator – the cockpit of a real jet fighter - and he will be on hand to help you to climb into the cockpit and strap you into the ejector seat. Your helmet and oxygen mask double up as your intercom to keep you in touch with the instructor, who will be in the rear cockpit to give assistance when necessary during your time at the controls of the jet fighter.

During your experience you will be able to start up, taxi the plane to the runway, take-off, fly and land at your choice of virtual airports. The simulator uses photo real scenery which will enable you to follow roads and coastlines, towns and cities and use the navigational equipment in the cockpit to find your way – and as your simulation will be in real time, you’ll even experience real weather conditions.

Your voucher is valid for 10 months for one person. Minimum age is 13 years. Minimum height is 5ft. You will spend 60 minutes in the cockpit and should allow approximately 1.5 hours for the entire experience. Please note that the simulator operates in real time. Your voucher may be used on any day of the week; all dates are subject to availability.

I had read previous review about the event and was expecting the place as you arive not to look great, this was the case when I got there, however as soon as I was inside the building I was recieved with a warm welcome from the owners who were passionate about what they were doing, so after a quick cup of coffee and a chat, it was on with the flying suit just to give that extra experiance, then it was out with the maps explaining where I was going, I had no clue about what pilots had to do but this this gave a good insite and was really interesting. Then on with the helmet for a few photo's then into the cockpit which really was superb.
I was then shown a lot of instruments which at first was a lot to take in but soon got yhe hang of where things where after being explained a few times. Then it was strap in time and the cockpit canopy closed with my instructor in the back seat. Then we fired it up with great sound effect and seemeed like a very real experiance. Then off we taxied down the runway which was super hard but fun and then took off and off round Wales flying all over the place at first just trying to keep the thing level and at a steady altitude, then off for loop the loops and barrel rolls. Landing was the pretty hard with my instructor helping out several times, so after a few attempts at landing it was all over, I was in the cockpit for the full 1 hour and to be honest i was exhausted due to the concentration.
Deffo give this a go, it was great fun and would do again.
