Traditional Afternoon Tea for Two at Whittlebury Hall
Always wanted to try an afternoon tea, it was a lovely gift and the perfect opportunity to catch up with a friend without the kids. I'm vegetarian so they catered for this by changing the sandwich fillings. Would definitely recommend. My one and only criticism is that it would have been nice in a traditional tea room setting rather than the bar area, but it was quiet so still enjoyable.

We were told to sit wherever we wanted, so there was no area dedicated for afternoon tea, it was either in the bar, lobby or outside. There were people in dressing gowns from the Spa in every room. The food was brought out and was very nice, but the staff didn’t check on us again. Disappointing to go to a nice venue and have no effort made to make the event special. In essence you’re just paying for (nice) but very expensive sandwiches.

Birthday gift for Mother
Having already tried an Afternoon Tea experience in a country house near Coventry, thought I would treat my mum to one for her birthday nearer to home. Went to Whittlebury Hall near Silverstone. Was quite disappointed. The sandwiches had a cold 'wet' feel to them so guess they were not freshly made but had been bought out of the fridge or freezer. The scones were warm but had no taste, the jam was very runny and the small petit four cakes were uninspiring. In fact one of them was a tiny square of sponge and chocolate that you could not pick up as it had melted. The staff were nice however but I would not go there again and felt it did not justify the £30 paid
