Location
Hertfordshire (South East)
Agenda
You will meet at around 9.15am in St Albans, where you will be kitted out and briefed on what to expect during the course as well as a safety brief. Following this briefing, the tour will begin. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day for catching your breath or to take those all important photographs! You will stop for lunch at a local inn or cafe for an hour before taking to the trails again, for a finish between 4 and 5pm. The tour is quite easy going but please note that you will encounter woodland, scrub, gravel, mud, ruts and perhaps even a water crossing or two if you dare! There are also some moderate climbs and descents in places. In the winter months it is not uncommon to encounter snow. The use of a motorcycle, all protective armour and clothing, fuel and third party motorcycle insurance is included in the package, along with the company of one of the friendly, experienced guides.
Notes
Your voucher is valid for 10 months for one person. Minimum height is 5’5”. Maximum weight is 18 stone. A full motorcycle licence is required for this tour. You are advised to bring comfortable clothing, a towel and footwear for muddy conditions, preferably boots. A change of clothing is advisable for your journey home. Please note that this experience runs everyday all year round. The standard bike for this tour is the Honda CRF230, ideal for those that are new to the world of off-road motorcycling. The seat height is lower than that of many professional enduro bikes and has a user friendly power delivery. If you would like to upgrade to a Yamaha WR250F (or equivalent) you can do so at an extra charge of £20 payable upon booking. A cheap set of waterproofs is also advisable, although these can be bought on the day, at cost, from the supplier. It is also useful to carry a rucksack with a bottle of water and a small amount of money for lunch. All clients are asked to respect the environments in which they ride.
Chrissie Dateley, Chesham
Don't let nobody tell you biking ain't for girls because this girl just had the time of her life riding cross country, off road on a Yamaha WR250F motorbike! (The extra £20 was well worth it for the superior bike.) What a thrill out in the open country away from motorway traffic jams and white van men playing skittles with you in the city - more natural challenges like water obstacles and rocky dirt tracks. Much better - best gift ever!
