Experience the joy of flight with a 30 minute flying lesson
This experience is perfect for any flying enthusiast or wannabe pilot. After a short briefing a qualified flying instructor will lead the way to one of the center's many planes. You will take control of the plane once in the air and soar through the sky. When you come down to reality you will be presented with a certificate to congratulate you on your flying achievements and will be given a log book to record your flying hours just like a professional pilot!

On arrival at the air center you will be introduced to your pilot who will instruct you throughout. You will have a pre-flight briefing for approximately 10 minutes where your instructor will explain what will happen during your flight and will answer any queries you have. Then your instructor will take you around the plane and make sure you're comfortable. Then it's time for takeoff! Once you are airborne there will be a quick run through of the controls and then you are in charge. After your flying experience your instructor will take over and land the plane. When you are safely on ground you will be issued with a certificate and given a log book so you can record your flight times like a professional pilot. Lessons run 7 days a week and if you enjoy you enjoy your flight time, it can always be counted towards a full flying license.

Your voucher is valid for 10 months, for one person. You are free to book your lesson using the booking details provided. When you book it is essential to inform the center if you are over 6 '4” or over 16 stone: an extra charge may be necessary if a bigger plane is needed. The minimum: 14 years old. Under 18s must be accompanied by parent/guardian. Family and friends are welcome to come along and take pictures and watch you fly. You must become a temporary member of the air center on the day, it is free of charge and it allows for insurance coverage. There is an on-site restaurant and some vending machines. All planes are CAA/EASA 145 approved. All lessons are subject to availability and weather conditions, so clients are advised to phone on the morning of the lesson to check it is safe to fly.

I cannot describe just what its like to actually fly an aeroplane for the first time. I was half expecting the aircraft just to fall out of the sky the second the pilot handed cockpit control over to me! But it didn't - I actually flew the plane, properly, myself, and it's an incredible feeling.
