Agenda

Upon arrival at the aerodrome you will be given a briefing on the principles of microlight flying. From there you are taken to the microlight for a general familiarisation of the vehicle and a run-through of the controls. After this it's up into the blue for the 30 minute flight of a lifetime! If the instructor feels confident that you are ready, you will even be able to take the controls and get the thrill of piloting the aircraft.

Notes

On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for 10 months for one person. You are then free to contact the microlight school to book a flight. Minimum age is 14 years old. No previous experience is necessary. Flight time will be 30 minutes depending on location and weather conditions. Maximum weight is around 14 stone. There is no maximum height. Flights are dependent on availability and are subject to the weather. It is recommended that you call on the date of your flight to check that it is safe to fly.

When I got to the flight school I had my briefing where everything was explained to me really simply and clearly. Then I got to have a look round the microlight I'd be flying in - I was a bit nervous but my instructor reassured me of how safe microlights were. Then I took to the sky with my instructor as pilot at first and after a while when I was confident, I took over in the cockpit and flew it myself. This was an experience to remember and probably the best gift I ever received.
