Ever wondered how players such as Pele and Ronaldo became so good at football? The reason is that they started by playing Futebol de Salão. This is a 5-a-side version of football of South American origin that is played with a smaller, heavier ball that has virtually no bounce. The game became very popular in Brazil where some of the greatest players were brought up first playing Futebol de Salão before moving on to conventional football. So why not follow in their football boots and join in the latest football craze to hit the UK?

Agenda

On arrival at the venue, meet your coach who will talk you through the basics of what you are going to achieve. Then join the other team members to perform some warm up exercises before watching and learning a series of Futebol de Salão moves and trying them out for yourself. The session ends with some warm down exercises. At the end of the first lesson you will have the option to sign up for a course of lessons.

Notes

Your voucher is valid for ten months. You are free to book your lesson at a time of your convenience using the information provided. Suitable for children between the ages of 5 and 16. This voucher cannot be used by existing members of the Brazilian Soccer Schools. Only one voucher may be used per person, not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Don't worry if you have never tried this before, the coaches are on hand to make sure you feel comfortable. On the day you should bring along football boots, trainers and shin pads. After your trial lesson you may choose to become a member of the soccer school, however you are under no obligation to do so.

I bought my son Harry a Brazilian Football Skills lesson to see if he liked it, as a kind of introduction to what soccer school would be like. He's seven and I really want him to start developing interest in sport to keep active. He loved it! The football coach was so fun, I saw Harry laughing a lot as he started having a go at the football skills. He met a couple of other kids he really liked and now they are all enrolled in soccer school together.

Think this is a really great way to get kids playing football instead of inside playing games all day long. I had to physically tear my kid away from the Xbox at first but now he's on his sixth football skills lesson (we enrolled him in the soccer school) and he runs out the door and tells me to hurry up incase he's late!
