A perfect day of adventurous activities.
Immersed in the atmosphere of the Imperial War Museum Duxford, this package makes for an extra special day. First is a hands-on flying lesson in the open cockpit of a Tiger Moth, the classic bi-plane, after which you will be able to get behind the wheel of an armoured military vehicle. Next you can enjoy a flight in a Dragon Rapide over the beautiful city of Cambridge before returning to Duxford for a tour of its private aircraft collection.

Your day begins at 10am and will include the following: Tea and Biscuits in the Control Tower; Entry to all areas of the Imperial War Museum for the participant; Hands-on flying lesson in an open cockpit Tiger Moth, complete with loan of flying jacket, helmet and goggles; Professional photo taken beside your aircraft; Driving lesson in an armoured military vehicle; Flight over Cambridge in the Dragon Rapide; Guided tour of some of Duxford 's private aircraft collection; Buffet lunch in the Pilots Briefing Room; 'Log Book ' flight certificate and celebratory glass of champagne. Your day will end at around 3.30pm.
Notes
On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months. You are then free to arrange a day for your visit directly with the operator. Maximum weight 16 stone. Minimum age 16 years. A buffet lunch is provided for all participants on the day. Refreshments are available on site for spectators. Please note that spectators will have to pay to enter the museum and watch the experience, but at a half price rate. All flights are weather dependent and therefore subject to suitable flying conditions. It is essential to call the centre on the morning of your flight to check it will be going ahead. If a flight has to be cancelled it will be rebooked for an alternative date. There will be 16 other participants on this experience with you. Dates are limited and subject to availability; usually the third Saturday of every month (April to October)

I wanted my husband to have a great time flying a plane for his recent birthday, so I booked him a Tigers & Tracks Action Day at Duxford - an experience that includes flying a Dragon Rapide by plane and driving a vintage Army tank. He also got full access to museum exhibits, a champagne toast and special lunch laid on at the museum. There is so much packed into this day out that I'm pretty sure Keith will never forget it.

On this experience day I got the chance to fly in the cockpit of an actual tiger moth aeroplane. This plane is a real piece of history so getting a flight in it is really special, the chance to have a flying lesson in it was out of this world! The Imperial War Museum is a great attraction and the tank driving experience was something I never thought I'd do.
