Tea for two at the luxurious Georgian Restaurant on Harrods' fourth floor.
Since Edwardian times, the Georgian Restaurant has been one of the most refined places in London to take afternoon tea. In years gone by an afternoon visit to Harrods was not a mere shopping trip but a social highlight. Under the splendour of the original 1929 Art Nouveau skylight and elegant carved plaster ceilings, Victor Silvester and his orchestra once played while the aristocracy dined. Now you can experience the high life with an indulgent tea for two in these luxurious surroundings.

The traditional afternoon menu comprises freshly cut sandwiches, home baked raisin scones and a selection of tea pastries from the famous Harrods Patisserie - all served with a tea of your choice. The experience is for two people and will last for around one and a half hours but a trip to Harrods is an experience in itself, make sure you leave time to wander round the magnificent shop.

What a magical day! All the staff were so attentive and the tables were set up beautifully. The food was just perfect. This was a wonderful gift to get and I recommend it to anyone looking to buy someone something a little different. It was such a special experience, I would love to do it again.

Well the phrase 'Tea for Two' does conjure a certain elegance of a by-gone age … but then you go up a notch when you say 'Tea for Two at Harrods'. When in London, be it for work or play, many people venture along the halls of Harrods to savour a little of the grandeur and magnificence of this unique landmark. For me, however, the 'icing on the cake' (sorry, couldn't resist that little pun!), was just that - having tea served in a silver pot, accompanied by dainty sandwiches and delicious cream cakes. Then, if that wasn't enough, they very kindly allow you to take remaining cakes home in a doggy bag! Sublime experience - to be organised again soon!
