Immerse yourself in the ancient mystery of this magical city. Stay at a privately owned riad in the heart of Marrakesh where beautifully restored rooms are built around a central courtyard of fountains and orange trees. The riad is an oasis of calm and tranquility amidst the bustling atmosphere of narrow streets and fascinating souks. The cooking is wonderfully relaxed. Under the guidance of a Berber cook you will prepare authentic Moroccan dishes in the way they have been made for centuries.

On arrival at Marrakesh airport you will be met and transferred to the riad. A traditional Moroccan dinner awaits on the al fresco roof terrace. Day two begins with a guided morning tour of the souk, then there is time at leisure before a late afternoon cookery session to prepare the evening meal - Tangia. Next watch a couscous and dessert demonstration before enjoying the Tangia dinner on the terrace. The following morning is a visit to the Mellah food market and spice merchants. We return to the riad for a cookery session preparing a lunch of tagines and salads. The afternoon is free before dinner at a highly recommended restaurant and a final night at the riad.
Notes
The price is for two people sharing one room. On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid until 30 November 2009, however we recommend booking your tour as soon as possible owing to limited availability. Includes half-board accommodation, two cookery sessions, guided excursions to the souk and food market and airport transfers. Flights are not included. Suitable for vegetarians. Arrival days Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Myself and my sister are travel buddies and always go on holiday together. We were looking online for our next adventure when I got distracted by buyagift and ended up finding the perfect trip! We both love cooking and neither me nor my sister had visited Marrakesh or Morocco or even North Africa for that matter before. Having the traditional experience is very important to us so staying in the riad and being taught by a real local Berber cook was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere at the souk too, and the market. Flights were fairly cheap to source so no problems there. An experience we would both highly recommend.
