Two Night Tree House Experience for Two 5 5 1 1
Magical Weekend I bought this experience as a Christmas/Valentines Day gift for my boyfriend, and can honestly say it was the best present i have ever bought. The entire weekend was peaceful and relaxing, consisting mainly of eating lots of good food, reading, sleeping, exploring the beautiful landscape and making the most of novelties like chopping your own fire wood, playing on the rope swing and showering under hot water whilst still being outside. The treehouse is one big room, with sort of a kitchen/living area, with a running hot water tap, then the other half is the bedroom area. It is genuinely up in the trees (unlike lots which are simply cabins on stilts), looking out of the windows and doors onto beautiful fields and trees. A log burner heats the room, and we were told it was -4 at night outside while we were there, yet we couldnt have been warmer or cosier inside. Food-wise, there’s a two ring hob to cook on with basic crockery and cutlery provided. There’s even an eco bucket-fridge outside which keeps food perfectly. At night time all your light is provided by tea lights, the log burner and any torches you bring, which creates a calm and romantic atmosphere. The owner we met, Mark, was a lovely guy, clearly very passionate about the treehouses, and was only to eager to provide any help we needed. A couple of key pieces of advice.. Make sure you pack as light as you can! Once you arrive you realsie there is really very little need to bring the amount of toiletries/makeup/clothes/entertainment as you would for a normal holiday. Also, bring some extra matches just incase. The provide plenty, but like the townies we are, we werent very economical with them and very nearly ran out at the end of the weekend. Overall, this was probably one of the best holidays i have been on, and whilst i wouldnt go back again too soon, for fear of ruining the novelty, i will 100% return in the future, and would strongly recommend anyone and everyone to try it. 25 February 2013
